Unsolved Mystery
Victorian England was a scary time. It wasn’t just formal dinner parties and rich people squabbling over property rights. Not at all. There was also one of the world’s first serial killers on the loose. And not only that...he even sent tantalizing clues to the police, but was never caught! Even today, leading theories range from the idea that he wasn’t one guy, but several to the fact that he probably escaped England and made it to New York where he continued to kill. There's also a hypothesis, the scariest yet, that he was the actual devil just having a little fun on Earth. No matter what you believe, throw on this Victorian Jack the Ripper Costume and inject a little fear wherever you go.
In this dark and brooding outfit, you’ll be able to frighten anyone at any costume party you attend. And the best part is, if you play your cards right, no one will know who you are by the end of the night! That’s about as creepy as you can get.
Fun Details
You might sense yourself feeling a little more wicked than normal in this look, but that’s ok, that’s what costumes are for. The styling is classic Victorian, and if it weren’t for the whole "killer" context of the character, you actually look quite debonair. The double-breasted black vest has silver-tone filigree buttons and red piping. The jabot is a dark red satin with black print (for maximum creepiness) and the knee-length cloak has a faux suede mantle edged with satin that fastens with buttons. Finally, to complete the look, the top hat boasts a satin ribbon band. We’re getting goosebumps just talking about it!
A Quiet Warning
This costume isn’t for the timid or faint of heart. There is a real darkness that surrounds it. We’re not sure if that’s because of the evil within Jack the Ripper himself, or the bad vibes his victims are trying to let out from the other side, but regardless, you’re definitely guaranteed to creep and scare in this ensemble.
