Monkey Business
We think it's ingenious, really. So many villains are just same-old, same-old. It's all about releasing the undead or legions of darkness, or some such rot. Really, it all just starts blending together. So boring. So drab. Who's supposed to take the villain seriously if all they have is some cones working for them? That's why we appreciate the Wicked Witch of the West. She knew how to pick minions that would scare the crap out of everyone. That's right. We're talking about the flying monkeys.
You see, no one else has had flying monkey minions. Not one. And not only are they unique and memorable, they're useful. They can fly after all. What's more, they're monkeys. That means they're smart, but not smart enough to talk back when the Witch is dishing out directions. Add to the fact that gray monkeys with small angry faces, fancy guard clothes, and big gray wings look terrifying? Well, you've got yourself a superior set of subordinates, that's what.
Fun Details
So if you're looking at following in the Witch's lead (or maybe you just want to join team West, because, let's face it, this woman is motivated ), then you'll need our Flying Monkey Costume. This gray jumpsuit has ties on the back and fringe under the arms and along the inseams. The flannel jacket has bright red and blue zigzag appliques. The foam wings are on wire frames and are sewn into the jacket shoulders. The gray hood even has a foam fez hat attached (to match the vest, of course). See? What did we tell you? Fashionable and terrifying.
The Things of Nightmares
You know, now that we're talking about it, we're having horrible flashbacks of our own childhood and being scared stiff of these grubby little flying henchmen. We would again like to laud the creativity and maliciousness of the Witch of the West, but we're more than ready to stop thinking about the monkeys. Please...
