Whether you just got hired here at Fun.com, or you're thinking about applying, its important you know what to expect. We live by our mission statement and our core values here. We expect every person who gets hired to do the same!
Our Mission:
Fun by people who care, delivering memories through a billion smiles, a million laughs, and a few disapproving headshakes.
Our Core Values:
- Find your passion.
- Focus on the positive.
- Embrace nerdy, goofy fun.
- Build strong relationships.
- Be humble.
- Know the value of your time.
- Change the world.
Find your passion:
Fun.com employees are encouraged to find out what they love and pursue that passion. We want you to take ownership of your work and get lost in it! You even get a personal development budget every year. If you find something that interests you, that may also add value to your work, we will pay for it!
Focus on the positive:
We like to keep things light around here, while still getting work done of course. If you make a mistake, don't worry, we won't hound you for it as long as you use it as a learning opportunity. We believe in celebrating the wins and learning from the losses.
Embrace nerdy, goofy fun:
We want you to be yourself and have fun while you're here. Don't be surprised if a nerf gun fight breaks out in the middle of the day, or if you see someone dressed in costume. We encourage you to express yourself and geek out over whatever makes you happy! Make someone smile, or shake their head, or both!
Build strong relationships:
We have an open office area for a reason! Take advantage of it and get to know who you're working with, you might learn a thing or two from them. We want you to collaborate and work together on projects. Building those strong relationships can make your work day more enjoyable and you could even build friendships that last outside of work.
Be humble:
When you walk into our doors, we want you to lose the ego. We strive to recognize everyone's importance no matter what their position or title is. Don't be afraid to ask for help, and always be willing to help others. If you worked really hard on a project and people aren't in love with it, take their suggestions and see if you can tweak a little something here and there. Maybe those little tweaks will be exactly what you needed!
Know the value of your time:
Usually your managers will tell you their expectations and give you goals to accomplish, without micromanaging you every hour of the day. It is very important that you know how to prioritize and keep yourself focused. You will have a lot of freedom to get things done your way, but be sure you are still utilizing the most out of your work day.
Change the world:
Trust me, we don't have this whole thing figured out. Don't be afraid to make suggestions on how we could do something better. We are always focused on continuous improvement but that can't happen without the help of all of you!
So, there it is. The seven core values that make up Fun.com. Hopefully this will help you feel a little more comfortable on what to expect during your time here. We like to do things a little differently than what you might be used to, but that's what we pride ourselves on. If these things seem like something you could embrace, you might be a good fit!
