PIRATE CREW

A pirate captain is only as good as his pirate crew. After all, how fearsome can a captain really be if his crew is totally incompetent? Sure, the captain might be a tough guy, but if his first mate pukes at the sight of blood, and his crew faints at the sight of puke, well, that whole chain reaction kind of takes some wind out of the captain's sails. (figuratively, of course.)

That's why a pirate captain's crew is so important. Everyone always talks about the great Captain Hook, but no one talks about his best mate or his crew. You think Captain Hook sails the Seven Seas alone? Not a chance. He hardly lifts a hand, he just stands in the back and looks fierce, waving about his silver hook. That's why we have so much respect for a pirate crew, the men on the deck putting in the hours.

FUN DETAILS

This costume is perfect for any first mate. You'll be wearing a blue and white shirt, that looks more than a little rough around the edges. The black pants are much the same way, probably from all of the hard years executing captains orders. We've included a headscarf to help protect your head from the harsh sun, we know shade can be hard to come by out on the open ocean.  Lastly, we have included a waist sash to wear like a ragged belt and add you to your pirate persona.

WHO'S YOUR CAPTAIN?

So, if you are dressing up as a first mate, who will be your captain? Is it a friend, or a sibling, maybe a spouse? Whoever your captain is, make sure that they don't forget to appreciate you! Being a first mate can be hard work, and you deserve recognition. Have fun!
