In the ultra serious world of modern film making, good old fashioned fun is often swept aside. These upcoming movies are movies that focus on recapturing the fun of film making in exciting and joyous new ways. Many of these movies are appropriate for children, teens and even adults.
"Beauty and the Beast 3D" is a careful reimagining of the original. It doesn't include new footage but uses advanced techniques to create a three dimensional look on the original film. People that loved the original or kids that have never seen it should reacquaint themselves with this beautiful and timeless masterpiece.
The animated version of "Dr. Seuss's the Lorax" promises to capture the joy and innocence of the original and translate it to a fun and exciting new movie for a wide range of audiences. Kids will love the silly rhymes while teens will love the pop culture references. Adults will appreciate the more serious tone of some parts of the movie and the fact that their family is united in their love of the movie.
Another great movie for a wide range of audience is "John Carter." This movie finds a Civil War vet somehow getting transported to a strange and hostile mars. Large aliens immediately take him captive but Carter soon finds he has nearly super hero level powers due to the lower Mars gravity. Kids and teens will enjoy the stunts while adults will enjoy the fact that this movie is a literary adaptation of books by Tarzan author Edgar Rice Burroughs.
"The Dark Knight Rises" is a bit more serious but should be fun for a wide range of audiences. Christopher Nolan's wildly successful Batman series should be able to recreate the fun of the first two movies. Watch out for Catwoman and Bane this summer.
